The Bolt is a flash non-fiction magazine.

Published by San Jose State University’s  Communication Center Writing Consultants, The Bolt offers writers the opportunity to express real perspectives on life, the world, and anything that matters to them.

Flash non-fiction is a quick and impactful style of writing true stories. Like a bolt of lightning, flash non-fiction is quick yet powerful. The Bolt invites writers to submit original pieces of non-fiction writing, 250 words or less, to be published in The Bolt in either our fall or spring issue.

If you would like to contribute a piece of flash non-fiction to this collaborative publication, please send your work to boltmagazinesjsu@gmail.com.

For a submission to qualify for publication, it must be an original piece of non-fiction, 250 words or less.
