Contradiction in Comfort by Garrett Taufa

There is comfort in the same

Comfort in the mundane

Comfort in habit

The unknown is a chance for growth

A chance for change

For reinvention

Stepping into a new place

Buildings towering over like massive redwoods as you enter the forest

Shadows cast down from the canopy above

Leaching any warmth from my body

A vast unexplored landscape stretching out in front of me

An exciting chance for meeting new people and learning new things

Seemingly unending as buildings like trees occlude my view of the new and unknown The campus sits in my sight, a vast wilderness harboring opportunities and the chance for growth

There is comfort in the same

Comfort in the mundane

Comfort in habit

The unknown is a chance for growth

A chance for change

For reinvention

It is easier to hide away

Much easier to keep my head down, marching forward keeping to myself Doing only what is comfortable, normal, sticking to what I know

It is better to be open

Much better to keep my head up, marching confidently forward meeting new people Doing what is new, interesting, getting to know new things

There is comfort in the same

Comfort in the mundane

Comfort in habit

The unknown is a chance for growth

A chance for change For reinvention
